Unveil

Exhibition Design

A graduation exhibition of the San Jose State University’s BFA Graphic Design Class of 2018

"Unveil" showcases the work of San Jose State University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Graphic Design Program Class of 2018. Our exhibition highlights the diverse talents of twenty students, emphasizing how our unique styles and aspirations define us.

As the leader of the Exhibition Team, I oversee the design process, ensuring each zone offers a cohesive and captivating experience. From initial planning to booth construction, we collaborate every step of the way to create distinct zones for individual, group, and thesis projects, as well as a gathering area. Each zone offers attendees a diverse and engaging experience tailored to its specific purpose.

The planning stage when we work on the floor plans, building mockups, and setting up dimensions for each piece

After trying different materials and tools, we decided to go with thick foamcore to construct the booths.

The in-process view of the exhibition when we were building it up

The individual zone with three different booth structures:

The first structure is the simplest one that are used for the first four booths

The second structure is more spread out and a little more complex than the first structure, acts as the connection between the first and last structure

The last structure has the most complex built out of the three to suggest growth throughout the whole individual zone

The thesis project zone are formed by three different booths displaying the names, pictures, and the thesis process book of each individual

We also created a little fun Easter egg with the cute drawings of our professors at the back of the thesis booths. Our professors loved those and they all laughed when they see those.

The group project zone is formed by low structures to create table tops for project displays
