Depression

Quantitative Squares and Metaphorical Package

A 3D series of squares along with an interactive metaphorical game to help viewers understand more about depression

This project’s objective is to create a set of squares with one statistic on each of them while using different image making techniques to create more impact for viewers. It does not have to be 3D, but I  decide to make it how it is to create depth as to say depression’s effects are invisible. The package is a metaphorical double sided maze where player has to try to get the sphere out of it conveying depression is happening in the brain and it is not easy to get over it.

The whole set of four squares and the package

The package is a two-sided maze with a crystal ball inside. It is the shape and size of a real human brain with the image being the CAT scan of a depressed brain. The objective of the game is to take the crystal ball out of the maze.

Since it is a two-sided maze, when the crystal ball fall down to one of the holes inside the maze, it continues on the other side suggesting that people with depression are struggling and constantly have to fight with their own brain to get out of depression.

On one side, the walls of the maze are clear saying that sometimes depression is invisible

On the other side, the walls are black saying depression can have bad effects on people
